My Great Great Grandfather Married Margret Powell in Glasgow in 1890 He was known as Lorenzo I believe.

I am looking to find out where in Italy he came from and who his Father and Mother where

They had a son Andrew Lannie b 1891 d 1950 who moved to N.Ireland and is he is my Great grandfather.

I Know very little About Andrew Lannie or Lorenzo, so any information welcome,

I have seen that a lot of Lanni's went to the USA and they went from Naples and was wondering if this was how Lorenzo left Italy and why he would end up in Glasgow lol!

Going by what Tessa has found (well done!), his name showing Laurence, well that Italianised is Lorenzo.
Also, if you goto scotlands people and get the marriage record for them, it will show his parents names and professions, etc!

I have found out that Margaret Powell Married Lorenzo Lanni on the 3rd of November 1890 at St Josephs Church in Glasgow

Lorenzo Lannie said He was Born in Italy, Naples. Census
He is 49 on the 1901 census so born 1852

His Parents are Michael Lanni and Theresa Lannie ( Maiden name Pasita or Casita) record not clear

I have the Birth cert for Andrew Lanni my Great Grandfather, the marriage cert of my Great Great Grandfather Lorenzo Lanni and the 1901 Census record

There is no record for Cosmo Lanni except in the 1901 census, but he is 14 so would be born 1887 before the wedding but no birth cert. It says Lorenzo is a widower, now I need to find out more on that route and more on my GGG grandfather Michael and his wife Thersea Lanni

This is addictive but it is also fascinating

Have just viewed Cosimos 1887 birth cert he was born at 175 West Graham Street glasgow his mothers name was Christina Tobia and Lorenzo married her in October 1883 Private message me your email address and i will forward birth cert
