Genealogy

Post by djohnlouise »

Hello,
My name is David Louise, I live in Syracuse, New York, USA. I have been researching my family history and I have found that my great grandfather Giuseppi Louise was born in Ferrazzano, Italy about 1872. That's about all I know if anyone may have some additional info or could possibly point me in the right direction I would appreciate it very much.
Thank you,
David J Louise.

Hey David,
Welcome to the Forum :D !
Did you need any help locating US records?
There are valuable clues in the US records that will help you in your research in Ferrazzano.
If you've found all of your US records and want to try Italian records this may help.

If you think your great grandfather may be from Ferrazzano, his family's vital records will be found at the comune.

Your nearest Family History Center can order civil records for Ferrazzano on microfilm.
The cost is about $7.50 mo (rent), you’ll need to go to the center to order & view them.

Currently in Campobasso and in Ferrazzano there are over 80 folks with the LUISI spelling of the surname.

Wow !!! Thank you all for the info !!! This is great plenty of places for me to Check out I really appreciate that. I am not positive on the spelling of the surname, Earliest census record I have found so far shows giuseppi Louise, maybe Louisi hard to tell if that was just the persons handwriting, that was from 1910. The next census record I have is from 1920 and clearly shows Joseph Louise. so I am thinking it was just the persons handwriting. that also means he came to America sometime between 1872-1910.
Again thank you all so much !!!
