Arcangeli in Marliana

Post by alysania »

Hello!

I feel like I've gotten a decent amount of information so far, having started with only had the names of my great grandparents and nothing else, but I'm spinning my wheels on where to go next and how to go about contacting folks. I've been through the Microfilm and online resources through Family Search and the Family History Centers. Where do I go beyond civil registration records? Parish records? Any help would be welcome!

The area I'm looking for is in Pistoia - Marliana, specifically Momigno, and the other half is listed as "il popolo di Celle" which seems to be nearby (on another document it's listed "Pieve a Celle").

Here's what I have:
Eugenia Arcangeli, born 3 April 1887 in Marliana (Pistoia), died 6 Mar 1946 in Pennsylvania. Married Quintilio Innocenti (born 6 Feb 1874 in Pieve a Celle in Pistoia, died 1921) in Marliana 27 Feb 1908

Eugenia's parents:
Leonardo Arcangeli (born 1858 in Momigno, died 12 May 1917 in Momigno, Italy), parents Pellegrina Traversari and Giovanni Arcangeli
Angiola Martinelli (born 1862 in Momigno, Italy, died 21 Apr 1922 in Momigno, Italy), parents Elio Martinelli and Agata Benocchi

Quintilio's parents:
Raffaello Innocenti (born 1844 in Pistoia)
Marianna Bonacchi (born 1844 in Pistoia)

Alternate Spellings: Arcangeli, Arcangioli, Archangeli

You have done well with your research has any of your earlier civil records listed a name of their parish church?

There is ONE listing for Arcangeli in Momigno (a frazione of Marliana) in the Italian Phone Book... MAYBE a relative? :D

Should you wish to write to this "potential" relative...

Thank you :) I haven't seen a name of a parish church listed anywhere. It seems to be a small enough village that there should only be one, right?

Now there's something I haven't thought of!

If I were persuing parish records, how would I go about that? I'm guessing none of these are online.
