Petrina (Pietra) Immordino

Post by lace115 »

Hi,

I have been researching my family ancestry for about two years. I am a member of ancestry.com and use the family search link frequently. My great grandmother Petrina Immordino was born in Villalba, Sicily sometime between 1860 and 1861. All the online records only go back as far as 1866. How can I get a copy of her birth certificate? Her parents were Santo Immordino and Lucia Zaffuto.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You could use the film records from Family History Library Registri dello stato civile di Villalba (Caltanissetta), 1821-1910 Births, marriages, banns, deaths, citizenship records, miscellaneous documents, supplements. Include indici parziali.

Marty,
Thanks very much for the link for the microfilm. There is a family history center close by. I have ordered the relevant dates. I did have the marriage certificate. I find it unusual that her name was listed at Pietra instead Petrina. Have you come across this before?

Not sure if you already have this... :-)

This is the death record entry for Santo Immordino in Italy.
It is a transcription of the New York City Death Certificate which was presented to the official in Villalba by Giuseppe di Raimondo, to be written into the town's record of deaths.

Thank you T.

I did not have this. I don't currently have international access on Ancestry. Is this document available on Family Search?
