Searching for Deliso Ancestors

John Frank Deliso born 1896 in Altoona, PA. Birth Certificate apparently had multiple names on it, DeLiso, DiLiso, DeLillo. Married to Filomena DiLaurentis. John Frank died in Hammonton, NJ in 1967.

Looking to find out as much as possible about John Frank's side of family, names, birthplaces, etc. for his parents and their ancestors.

His mother is believed to be Angelina Presti born in Italy and father John DeLiso. Angelina left to go to Philadelphia when John Frank was 8. It is not known if John the dad died or if they separated or divorced. It is believed Angelina remarried a Michail Feliciano.

Bingo! Now if we can just figure out Angelina's maiden name for sure and her origin, we think it is Sicily and we think her surname is Presti as mentioned before, perhaps it's really Lo Presti or Lo Presto.

We also are trying to find the ship manifest and city of origin for for the John Delilo born 1870 (corrected)

Yes, I have been searching for a manifest for Angelina (with Presti and Lo Presti.)
FYI - on the census Angelina listed her arrival as 1895, which may help to narrow it down!

Yes, I thought you might have meant the John/Giovanni Delilo/Deliso/Delisi who was the FATHER of the John who was born in 1895

I searched so much and I cannot find any records prior of 1920 census...
no abt Angelina no abt her son....

You have the birth certificate of John Frank DeLiso/DeLillo?

I believe that him birth surname was LoPrete or similar spelling...
When you said that Angelina maiden name was LoPresti or Presti (or similar spelling),it could be possible that was her married name by first husband?
and maybe John Frank changed his surname in DeLiso/DeLillo...

In all 1900 Pennsylvania census I found just some possible record and no in Altoona, Blair, PA, but in Montgomery County, PA..
but I am no sure ...
I found a family.. matching enough.. mother Angelina born in jun 1880 IT; son born in Pennsylvania on Jul 1894(no 1895/1896) and the surname was LoPrete or similiar spelling.. but it was other children also .. in 1910 the children was 8 in total.. and Angelina widowed... in 1920 all family members disappeared..

You know if John Frank had siblings?

This Angelina maiden name was Bello and I believe that the her husband surname was LoPrete ( or Lo Prete).. she was born in Montella (Avellino province on 10 jun 1880 from Giovanni Bello and Concetta Granese

I found the 1920 and 1930 censuses abt her parents, but nothing abt Angelina and children... for that I believed that maybe Angelina of the above records could be the Angelina that you are searching for....
