castellano from sicily

Post by Castellanocanicatti » 31 Dec 2013, 15:35

My ancestors are from Canicatti Arigento. I have traced the family back 10 generations, but can not find any actual records. I am looking for marriage, death, birth and military. Ancestry.ca (com) has provided very little. I had a genealogist helping me, but he was unsuccessful after sending faxes to the town, and province.
ANY and all suggestions are very much appreciated.

Hello, :D
If you haven't looked at the Family Search website, there are several records online
for your commune.
https://familysearch.org/search/image/i ... %3D1946817

Not sure who on here is in your line, so...
The marriage index runs through years 1876-1905.

Marriage Index from 1876-1905 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... 1851952869

Here is a Francesco Castellano in 1882.

Hope this helps,

Welcome to IG website. A question for you how do you get back 10 generations without any records?
Do you have some names and dates and where your family settled
