Surname: Vitulano

I am having difficulty researching my mothers maiden name; VITULANO because it is also the name of a city or town. I do know my grandparents lived in Manfredonia, Foggia, Puglia because it is listed on my grandfathers WWII draft records and my grandmothers ship manifest. My grandfathers name was Salvatore Pasquale Vitulano dob 1, Jan 1894 and my grandmother Annina Marie Paglione Vitulano dob 23 Nov 1897. They both immigrated on separate dates to the US. I have all of their US info, but would like to begin researching their lives in Italy including births, marriage, etc... From where they were born and lived previous to immigrating, where would I write to receive this information? This is just the beginning of a long journey researching my mothers family. I have spent the last 10 years researching my fathers from Ireland and it has been very rewarding. Thank you very much for any assistance you can offer. Tomorrow, I will begin to read the information you have on this site about receiving records from Italy.

After looking a your tree on ancestry at the shipmanifest of Annamaria Paglione on the 2nd page it says her husbands name is Venturo Vitulano
