DeDonato Family

Post by demari18 » 06 Sep 2015, 13:54

A friend at Italiangenealogy located the birth record for Gabriele DeDonato. I now know his parents were Antonio DeDonato (born about 1852) and Marcella Piccirillo (born about 1855). Is there a place that I can search Italian birth records for Teano, Italy for the 1850's? Thank you demari

Dear Marty, Thank you so much for the info on the Teano records. No, I have not searched for their marriage record as I do not have a year. I have one son's birth record with his birth year of 1894. I figured to look without an approximate year would be too broad a range. Hoping to try to narrow down the range before searching. Any suggestions? demari

I located Gabriele's birth act on Familysearch which has some records online (click link below). Birth records for the 1850s are unfortunately not available online but you might be able to locate Antonio and Marcella's marriage record since marriage records from 1866 and later appear to be available. These records are NOT indexed so you'll need to locate the individual yearly marriage indexes to locate the marriage act number and then scroll back to the correct page/number.

Great work, Marty! I've been plodding my way through the 1870s records thinking they married much earlier.

Best,
