ships' manifests

Are the manifests of ships leaving Genoa for the United States available for the years 1835 to 1844? If so, how to access them.

That's a difficult one! Perhaps you can find the name of the ship through searching your ancestors name on Castel Garden, since that was an entry point before Ellis Island.

You might try the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild site. They have some very early passenger information though not all-inclusive.
