Surname Grappone is very local to the area of Avellino (southern Italy), while Maino is very common throughout northern Italy (Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont).
More info is needed to start a search. What information do you have (first names, places, dates etc) ?

Hi. if the surname is MIANO ( no MAINO) as Grappone, well, as Marco says, both are from especially Savignano IRPINO.. regards, suanj

Oops! I didn't notice that you put Miano in the subject line and Maino in the text. Miano makes much more sense coming from exactly the same area of the husband. Just a small difference and the surname moves away 800 kilometers!
