Maria Palazzolo & Palazzolo Family

Hello all,

I have a great aunt who was born in I want to say Cinsi, Palermo, Italy. She passed away In 1954 and none of us living relatives know anything about when she was born.

Her name was Maria Palazzolo and she was born between 1899-1901.
Her cemetery stone says 1900, but her husbands year of birth is also incorrect by a few years on the stone as we have his death certificate and not hers.


Her parents were Girolamo Palazzolo and Lucrezia Giacona. They were married on June 11. 1899.

Also, if anyone could help me find any siblings names of Girolamo Palazzolo and Lucrezia Giacona. I'd appreciate it. I know their parents names, but I have no idea if hey have any siblings. I know that being from an Italian family, there's got to be a few siblings.

Girolamo was born in December of 1875, and his parents were Natale Pazzolo and Maria Badalamente.

Lucrezia was born in 1878, and her parents were Mario Giacona and Giuseppa Maria Galati.

Girolamo, age 29, was a stonecutter( tagliapietra) residing in Cinisi
He was the son of Natale (looks like he is deceased) who lived in Cinisi; and of Maria Badalament(sp?), resident of Cinisi.
Mario Giacona, was 57, farmer residing in Cinisi; he was the father of Lucrezia, age 26, housewife residing in Cinisi, who was the daughter of Giuseppa Maria Galati, housewife residing in Cinisi.

Banns of marriage were posted on 28 May and 4 and 7 of June.

I searched for the birth of Maria in 1899-1902, but 1900 is missing from the online records.
She does not appear in 1899, 1901 or 1902, so a year of 1900 might be correct.

Because of the discrepancy in the year of birth you gave me for Lucrezia, and this birth, it is possible that this Lucrezia died and other child was born later and given the name. I will look for a Lucrezia Giacona in the 1875 births...

Hi Jerry....My name is Maria Giacona and was born in Cinisi Parlemo but emigrated to England when i was a small child with my parents. My fathers mother was Serafina Palazolo. I think there could be a conection.
