Di Libero is how it is written in the birth act also is Mariangela Cardalisca from Ariano Irpino (Avellino) I don't think her surname is right either

Heres the birth record of his brother Giuseppe Di Libero

Your Great Grandfather's name was spelled correctly (Cosimo Di Libero) on his arrival manifest in 1903.
Line 22...
Age 23, shoemaker.
He was from San Lorenzo Maggiore and his destination was his brother, Vincenzo, at 66 German St., in Bridgeport, Connecticut. [Vincenzo is the third given name listed on Giuseppe's birth act that marty posted :-) ]

The change in spelling of his name probably happened on US documents. Misspellings occurred because of phonetic spellings, and misunderstanding the name when spoken by your ancestor due to his accent.
