yes sure was died before of 1949.. this it is already something.. Antonio: because Giuseppe had 4 children, what you think... you can say us the birthyear of all children... because this is important for the search.. in fact the last child, when born.. well it is an period of time for to search the ship's manifest... and so also for all children... also I found only an Savino (francesco) from Acerenza and came in New York in 1907 Jun 23, .. it is possible that also your Giuseppe came in New York... the Savinos are most diffused, but in 1774 around records of ellis island I found only this Savino Francesco from Acerenza... I hope to find something, regards, suanj

Hi !
I'm very interesting in your ancestors because I'm also looking for SAVINO's from Potenza, Basilicate :
Chiara SAVINO, who married Antonio SELVAGGI, tailor.
I really don't know about my Chiara SAVINO, but her husband Antonio SELVAGGI was born 1823 in Muro Lucano, Potenza, Basilicate.
They had almost 3 children :
- Giuseppe born about 1850 in Muro Lucano, who naturalized French 1900
- Francesco Antonio born about 1862 in Eboli, who naturalized French 1900
- and Filomena born 1869 in Eboli who left for New York 1888.

If you can provide some information on that Chiara SAVINO, I would be very happy !

Antonio, I wouldn't worry too much about birth years in the census not matching reality. Speaking from personal experience, not one of my great-grandparents birth or immigration years, or age was listed factually on any census from 1900 through 1930 - with wide disparity from census to census. Whether through language barrier or ignorance, that's the way it was.
At least you have a lead to check out. Good luck!

I forget something, a children of the couple is said to be born in August 1918, a few day before Vaccaro's death; Giuseppe is missing; so i suppose that he left his family between the end of 1917 and August 1918

Antonio: we are searching for you.. please to wait, because we cannot find the ship's manifest... in nobody port of arrival in USA, so someone of census records already posted here it could be right, also it is possible that the name was americanized, so it is necessary to find the ship's manifest....
