Baffled by middle name: Adamagio

Post by cportante » 05 Nov 2016, 15:06

Greetings everyone:

I have been working on my family's genealogy for several years and have had many successes and interesting discoveries. One of the major things baffling me right now, however, is a name. My great-grandfather's middle name, as written in his birth record, was "Adamagio". He never used it, at least not in adulthood. His Foglio Matricolare does not use it, nor do any other documents I've seen. This seems to be a name of the rarest variety. Does anyone have any ideas? The handwriting is pretty clear, so I don't believe I am misspelling it. Could the sindaco or other official have made a spelling mistake. If so, what was the name likely intended to be?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

Hello Chris!

That given name is not familiar...

Can you post the image for us?
