Okay, my GGrandfather was the sponsor to a Nicholas Ridolfo, but he was born in 1893, so I'm thinking that possibly, Maria Ridolfo, Vincent's mother has a brother name Nicholo, who bore a son Nicholas. Although, I still can't figure out how Nicolo Ridolfo is his uncle, unless Maria Ridolfo had a sister who married a Fiscella, right? OR Maria is indeed Michele's mother like my GGrandfather said in the newspaper article? I mean, even if she wasn't widowed before the marriage to Graziano, could she have been divorced from a Mr. Fiscella or even annulled marriage from him? Oh Lord, it is late and I am losing my marbles here...gonna have to pick this back up in the morning, I do believe. Thank you for all your help....so so much.

Here is the birth act of Michele Fiscella in Nicosia on 26 May 1873.

#209 - Dated 29 May 1873
Father: listed as Sigismundo (changed to Simone*) Fiscella, age 73, son of deceased Michele
Mother: Maria Ridolfo, age 23, daughter of deceased Nicolo.
They were both farmers residing in Nicosia, and the child was born at their home on Via porta Coniglio at 10 PM. He was given the name MICHELE
Present at this declaration: Ignazio Fiscella [son of deceased Michele] age 60; and Michele Fiscella [son of Mariano] age 24.

*At an act of the tribunale dated 14 December 1893 the father's name was corrected from Sigismundo to Simone.

WOWSA! Thanks so much! It seems that having married Graziano at such an older age, she could have definitely had a life with another child before then. SO wow. Thank you so much! Does that mean that Maria and (Sigsmundo) Simone were married?

So it looks like Simone had a brother Ignazio age 60 and also maybe a cousin there named Michele who was son of someone Mariano? Am I reading that correct?

Maria is not identified as Simone's wife. We could looke for a marriage act. However, if there was a civil marriage, she should have been identified as a widow in the marriage to Graziano Mancuso.

Tessa, way back on page 1 of this thread, you asked me about the name of Vincent's wife. Her name was Petrina Sciabarrasi. They were married here in the states, ELOPED, to the chagrin of her family apparently. Marriage certificate was from Alexandria, Virginia I believe, but they lived here in Baltimore. He had a barber shop on W. Fayette Street and a barber supply business until the day he died in 1985. She was born in 1887 and died in 1970.

See if you can read this story. Vincent Mancuso my great grandfather wrote it in 1976 for the Baltimore Sun Paper. (July 18 1976)

The Birth EXTRACT that you posted for Vincenzo agrees with the birth act I posted earlier.
You only posted the front page, and I think the actual year of the marriage of Maria and Graziano is on the back side. The date of "22 day of the current month" appears on the front side. As we know now, the year was actually 1898.

AND
The "travel papers' you referenced are for Vincenzo Mancuso [son of Graziano] who was going to New York to join his brother Sigismundo who resides there. He will be accompanied by Giuseppe (can not read the surname) who will was issued a separate passport.
Vincenzo's passport is valid for one year, and is dated 9 September 1900.
The left column has a description of Vincenzo:

Age 12 years
Height - growing
Hair - blond
Eyebrows - same
Eyes - clear
Nose - regular
Mouth - same
Chin - oval
Beard -
Particular signs - scar on eyebrow

And the reason I asked about Vincenzo's wife was because I thought maybe the reference to "brother" could possibly be "brother-in-law". But as we see now, they were actually half-brothers.

I can't figure it out again! Argh! I keep getting the message that is is not possible to determine the dimensions of the image and Please verify the URL is correct. I have tried everything. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I have this save in PDF and in JPEG...is there any other way I can get it to you?
