Help finding death date

Post by mosca5 »

Hi All,

I am trying to find my great great uncle Luigi Clemente Moschino's death date and I'm not sure how to go about it. He was born in 1852 in Casale Monferrato Torcello and he was a resident there as of 1921. Should I write to Casale and ask if they have an index of deaths between say 1922-1930? I'm guessing he passed away along that time frame. His wife's name was Giuseppina Sarzano.1921 is the last record I have of him, as he attended his son Igino's wedding.

Thanks for any recommendations,
Mike

Hello Mike,

I checked the Morti Indici for 1921 through 1933 in Casale Monferrato and did not find Luigi Clemente Moschino.
He may have moved, or passed after 1933 (online records end in 1933 for deaths)

I will search the records in Torcello (since that is where he is listed as residing on his son's marriage act) and also I will look for Giuseppina Sarzano's death... perhaps that will help to narrow the time frame.

EDIT TO ADD***
Death acts in Torcello are only available through 1885...

Giuseppina Sarzano was born in 1861 in Rosignano Monferrato. Maybe they died in that town? married in Rosignano in ,1882.Another possibility is Castagnole Monferrato.

I have already checked Rosignano Monferrato (since Iginio was born there), but did not find the record.

I will check Castagnole Monferrato.

EDIT
I checked Castagnole Monferrato (which is province of Asti) for deaths 1925 - 1935.
I did not see ANY Sarzano or Moschino in the death indices.

I checked the 10-year indices for Ozzano Monferrato (1916-1925 and 1926-1935) but did not find any Moschino or Sarzano deaths in those years.

I decided to recheck the records in Casale Monferrato. I had checked the indices which were through 1933. When looking at the death acts I realized they extended through 1938. I checked them all and did not find your relatives. However, there was one Moschino listed - Ernesta Moschino - #201 in 1935.
She was age 71, a teacher, daughter of dec. Francesco and of dec. Maria Rossi; widow of Giuseppe Accornero.

Auguri di Buona Pasqua!
