Partisans in Northern Italy

I have recently discovered a relative of mine - Italo Aresca - was a Partisan and was executed on 23 May 1944 in Vicenzo. I am just wondering if someone has any more information about him - he was only 21 when killed. We know he was born in Mombercelli and thankfully his body was returned there but I am keen to find out if there is any further information on him. Many thanks

Hi - yes we found these last week - but thank you!

We think his parents were Ettore Aresca (1893-1949) and Cristina Vasario (1894-1984) but can't track his birth records - is there a way of finding the records for 1923 online does anyone know?

Sorry - I've just seen your second link - and this is a new one and it says he is their son - so that is excellent that we have that proof! He was my grandmother's cousin and there is such a likeness! The date of birth is different that the one we have - but out by a month!

You can request a "copia integrale dell'atto di nascita", a full copy of the birth record from the comune of Mombercelli:

We think he had two sisters - and are having trouble tracking them - Letizia and Enrica - can you advise how we could perhaps find their details?

In that case you can request a "certificato storico di stato di famiglia" of Ettore Aresca's family. You will need to pay something for it, but it will contain info about all the family members.
