Looking for family in Italy - Bianchi/Belluomni

Post by lmillar56 » 15 May 2018, 04:27

Hello

This is my second attempt to post. I am looking for information about my fathers family in San Ginese Italy. My Dad was born there in 1921 his name was Egidio Aldo Bianchi. My Dad told me his Grandfather was the mayor of the town at that time. His Mother's name was Gina Belluomni Bianchi and his Father was Armando Bianchi. My Grandmother died when my Dad was five years old and my Grandfather was in San Francisco CA at the time working and saving money to bring my Dad and Grandmother to America. He was unable to get my Dad until my Dad was 7 but apparently my Great Grandparents wanted to keep him, they were unsuccessful and my Dad never saw or heard from them again. I would like to know more information about them.

Thank you

Have you seen this manifest for when Armando brought Egidio to the United States? Armando's father is listed as Eugenio on line 6 of page 2 on the manifest. His residence is S. Ginese - Lucca. Armando is traveling to his brother Agostino in San Francisco. In order to view the image you need to register on the familysearch website if you have not already done so. Here is the link to the first and second page:

Page 2

It is available on ancestry as well:

It appears the only records available for the comune of San Ginese either on microfilm or online are from the napoleonico era - (1807 - 1813 specifically for San Ginese). There don't appear to be any later, more recent records.

Thank you Robert - yes I have seen the manifesto and it appears, I think, on my "ancestry" page there are some new records I see that have come up. I will look. I really am interested in my Grandmothers side of the family and I believe you are correct there does not appear to be records prior to the Ellis Island records from San Ginese which is disappointing. Thank you for your time and response I will keep hoping someone out there might know something!
