Help finding family records

Post by jrm1032 » 06 Jun 2018, 06:14

My ancestors are Samuel Lucca Toto ( or Toto Lucca, when he came over to America he just kept the Toto) and Carmela Guiffre. They had two kids before coming over Santo and Guiseppa (Josephine) and had 4 more once they came over. Samuel was over before his wife and kids. I don't have a lot of information on him ( besides his birthday of June 14, 1895 and a possible sister named Rose), but if anyone has any more information that would be so helpful. For Carmela, I know she was born in Gioiosa Marea, Messina in 1900 on April 4th. Her and her children traveled out of Naples on the Augustus and arrived in 1931.

I just wanted to see if anyone had any information that would be helpful.

Welcome to the forum! :-)

I do not know if you have this mortuary record from the Pennsylvania Order of Sons of Italy in America
It gives his Social Security #...
You can request his Social Security Application online (for a fee) on which you can usually find the name of his parents and his place of birth.

It is very important to know the exact place of birth of your ancestor to obtain civil records. The records are held at the local level.

Hey I am also in search for my family records! I am searching for info in my grand-grand-grand parents, they came from Italy to Brazil, around 1889.

Giovanni Corleto (son of Domenico Corleto and Domenica Maria Brum) born in 25 april 1864. He married Josephina Consentino (daughter of Clemente Cosentino e Concetta Angelica) born 22 may 1873. We believe they were born in Calabria, but we don´t know exactly.

They had 9 children: Domenico (deceased in Italy), José, Maria (my grand grand mother, she came as a baby in she ship to Brazil) Clemente, Ercília, Alexandre, Duamantina e Américo.

Could you help us?
