I going to post the 1930 Census for Louis and family. This includes his brothers Augostino and Savino, but no Ettore or Hector listed. Angelo is not even listed. You've probably already seen it but others may want to have a look.

Hector was living in Niagara Falls at one time..here is the WW1 Draft Cards.

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918
about Hector Pontecorvo
Name: Hector Pontecorvo
City: Niagara Falls
County: Niagara
State: New York
Birth Date: 1 Jun 1882
Race: White
Roll: 1818599

Draft cards for Hector

Lists wife as Francesca. I can't make out the street address he is living on. Looks like Angelo Crest.

Brothers Savino and Augustine were living at 521 Main St in Niargara Falls. Neither were married. Augustine said he was in support of his mother and sister.

Thanks. I already have that info. Hector and family lived down the street during the 1920 census. I cannot find him in the 1930 census. I do not have anything on Angelo, except the ship manifest for his visit, because frankly no one knows about him!!!! My eldest aunt does not remeber her father or uncles (Savino and Augustine) talking about another brother.

Hi suanj!
You are right.
Calif death index has same date 1 Jun 1882
(died in Los Angeles)

This particular census transcription is pretty awful.
Wife Frances age 47.
Sons Anilo? & Tulio (from 1920 census in Niagra Falls)
also look correct.

What do you think?

Hi vj perhaps is 51 the age .. I cannot to read it very well, but it could be the right manifest.. because ..in effect... Frances don't have a right age for to be a wife.... of a man... only 21 old!!! kisses, suanj

Yes, I knew you already had that info but its much easier to help when everyone else is able to also view it as well. It also saves everyone a lot of time...remember, each person looking for you has to go through all the info you already have to find the info you need.

Were you able to place Angelo on a census as well? If so, could you post the info or tell us did he also follow the naming traditions? All these little clues will help piece your puzzle together. Also, we mentioned the FHC films...did you ever inquire about them? They will confirm all the info including parents names which is very important. You have some good leads on ages of the brothers so it shouldn't be too difficult.

vj and suanj,

Nice job. Hopefully this is the info the poster needs. :D

Thank you so much for all your help. I apologize for commenting on the info I already have, as I did not think about it from your prospective. Sorry.

The ship manifest for Angelo Pontecorvo has him listed as a non-immigrant visitor. I am assuming that he came for a visit. Why he never returned is a mystery to me. Maybe he was killed during WWI?

I have been unable to follow-up with FHL due to family obligations. Unfortunately, my grandparents only had girls. My male cousins are named after their fathers. My great-uncles Savino and Augustine never had children. Hector had children, but I never met him.

Thanks for finding the 1930 census for Hector. I am still at a loss to find his ship manifest.

You're welcome, the team here does a great job!
Thank you for the update on the families.
Ettore's manifest is proving to be very difficult to
find.

Sorry..didn't mean to come across as rude. Was just trying to explain the more you give us, the more we can do. Not angry or anything...communication is key and no one here is better or worse then anyone else so forgive me if I sounded abrupt. :D

Don't give up. It will happen. It just takes time. Do you know which films are needed though? Maybe someone can post them (I'm horrible at it). This way someone might check the libraries if they are there and if they are already on loan, they might be able to help with actual lookups. It never hurts to post just in case, right?

Hopefully someone can post them??? :D

I looked at the 1930 Census. This is definitely the correct link. I would never have found that without your help. What a creative way to spell Pontecorvo!

klo84,

Thanks for posting the film numbers...makes it so much easier and you never know who might be able to help.

I've copied these down and next time I get out to the FHC I will check and see if they have the films on loan already. If they do I will try and look them up for you.

Will let you know, ok?
