Foundling birth record

Hi,

My great grandfather, Ernesto Giovellli, was a foundling, born 6 May 1873 in Naples.

I've looked thru the birth records in several towns without success, does anyone have any ideas where I may find information? He is my brick wall.

Hi the right surname spelling is GIAVELLI.
I found his draft registration card in Benevento archive, so he was enrolled maybe in Benevento military district if he was resident in Sant'Agata dei Goti:
GIAVELLI Ernesto di IGNOTA nato a NAPOLI il 06/05/1873
Giavelli Ernesto of unknown paternity, born in Naples on 6 May 1873

you can contact Naples civil records office if you need of Birth certificate....
