just curious here. went to the www.antenati@beniculturali.it site in search of the atti di nascita of nicola (ferdinando) sacco b.4/22/1891 in torremaggiore foggia & bartolomeo vanzetti b.6/11/1888 in villafalletto cuneo. background:famed italian anarchists executed by electrocution in charlestown prison in massachusetts in august 1927,with prejudice according to many supporters. both arrived in the usa in 1908 and soon became involved in radical politics,which didn't bode well for 2 italian immigrants at that time. 2 payroll guards were murdered in 1920 and sacco & vanzetti were unjustly accused of the murders in the act of robbing the payroll truck. sacco was married with 2 young children while vanzetti was single. anyway,i see nothing for either comune at the site. torremaggiore in foggia or villafalletto in cuneo. anyone out there have any options as to finding these records?

thanks. but curious.what collection did you find this in? i checked both the antenati and family search sites for torremaggiore in the year 1891 and found nothing. its in foggia province and i had the correct year.

In order to find the right collection on FS you have to search using the name of the province, not the municipality

when researching the antenati or lds sites i normally go to the province first,then look for the comune. i couldn't find torremaggiore (foggia) for nicola sacco in 1891 nati or villafalletto (cuneo) for bartolomeo vanzetti in 1888 nati. lots of inconsistencies in these records i find as i search quite frequently.

Any time. The 'new & improved' way to get to it on FS is a little twisty so I rely on my old-school links. Last I looked, Foggia wasn't in the ANTENATI site yet.
