Just to let all know have been trying to get the marriage certificate up on here but have no idea how tried to put it on the missing you site but that didn't work either too big.

In England this is how they list the Bride: Gertrude Giaquinto 25, Spinster,no profession, Father: James Giaquinto, Laborer.
Her father as far as the info shows was still alive in 1950 when they married whereas Brian's Father was listed as deceased.

On Wayne's Birth Certificate It shows name and surname of Father and his profession then this is how they listed his Mother:
Gertrude SELWOOD
late GIAQUINTO
formerly EGAN.

One would think that in this day and age of data entry there would be more up to date census records especially now with the scanner equipment that they have. I have looked for and been unable to find records of her "First" Marriage and/orDivorce or in Canada his marriage to his second wife but am still trying to find out about that.

Wayne has been told that they did post ads in major upstate New York papers for her regarding divorce proceedings and I have attempted to get records previously but didn't have dates etc so went no-where. Canadian records too are well behind the times.

I am sure that Wayne came into the states on his mother's passport that is how he got his US papers so quickly. Here we have Child tax credit(baby bonus) this was never applied for in Wayne's case because they thought he was here illegally. So it is possible his father never had legal custody of him either.

These same questions have been going round and round in my head since the mid 80s.

Hi Janice,
the email that I sended some day ago, well they receveid it, for sure, but no reply... yesterday, sunday, I faxed, and I hope in some reply..
about the info on Gertrude, I think that they have some info about the person and they can give us, otherwise as we can find it?

about Giacomo giaquinto, as already saying, was only 1 person with this name, that made 2 travel, and lived in Paterson, Paissac NJ... now and thanks to Nuccia help, I have the record of a Thomas Giaquinto in Paterson... that had a daughter Filomena born in 1925... the problem is that are some discrepance and I don't know if this Thomas really was Giacomo, because the first name is different; for sure we have:

-ONLY a Giacomo Giaquinto with probable age good for to be a Gertrude father came in USA ( and are also other 2.. but the 1° was born in 1865 and cannot be the Gertrude father ; the 2° was as GiaquintA surname very different from GiaquintO, and in 1950 the errors on italian surnames was rare)...

-because we cannot find the right Gertrude, because as Gertrude Egan are many persons in UK and also in USA, we must go back until the James father records, hoping to find some trace...

- I know that Wayne mentioned Plattsburgh, Clinton NY but this town is residence place of Gertrude abt in 1960, but previous we don't know what was the USA birthplace of Gertrude

- Wayne don't remember when and what was the exact year of Gertrude in Plattsburgh? You can contact Plattsburgh city hall for to ask some info about Gertrude Egan resident in this years...?

-However waiting missing you reply, we search also by Giacomo/James trace...

-all our prayers are for you and Wayne, and also our efforts for to find...

Best regards, suanj

joyce, thanks, very thanks!
Now we know that this is the only Giacomo Giaquinto probable gertrude father! He came in 1911 and Marta wife in Sala town, joining in Paterson to a parent... in 1922 the same person came again, always Marta wife and joining Domenico brother in Paterson... in draft card the wife also is in Paterson.... I think that this could be Gertrude father, the age is right for to have a daughter in 1925, the other giacomo was in new Haven CONN, but born in 1865, most old for a daughter born in 1925... now we must find Gertrude or some other middle name, but born in 1925 and with James father... thanks, take care, suanj

Hi Nuccia thanks! the first is Giacomo and Marta ... the second is the James in Plymouth... I cannot find this Giacomo on ellis island ... he and the wife Rose emigrated in 1907... however one of two chances, or NJ or MASS... also this in Plymouth is a probable record...! Now need of to find in 1930... Gertrude born in 1925, and she must be in the census... Thanks for great effort, we must to find Gertrude for Wayne and Janice happiness! great heart in italiangenealogy!!! kisses, suanj
