Ascoli Piceno - Montemonaco

Post by marzolinoam » 15 Jun 2019, 00:31

I am trying to locate my grandparents marriage certificate. They were married in Montemonaco on November 3, 1915. I have written Ascoli Piceno and included the funds for the certificate but they have never responded. It is not listed in Family Search or Antenati. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Their names were Antonio Virive and Anna Bonifazi. My grandmothers naturalization papers list this information.

Ok this is very interesting and thank you so much, but there is not one Virive/Verive. Any idea who I can write to obtain the records. I do have my grandfather's picture from WWI and his discharge papers. All claim Montemonaco. Did the earthquake destroy records?

Is it possible the surname is wrong. The surname Virive is found in today's phone book in Rome only! Bonifazi is all over the place.

Well I have his Military papers that state Virive and his residence in Montemonaco. When they got here they changed it to Verive. My grandmother listed Montemonaco as their residence also on her naturalization papers. They had one child in Italy and I have her baptism certificate which is odd but from that region. I also have two Virive's Pasquale and Francesco coming to the US for work. Pasquale is our great grandfather. Maybe I should check Rome?
