I am so sorry, I was told the wrong info for marriage. The date was for the marriage of their daughter Maria and Antonino Re. Thank you for leading me to it! I did not know of this town,Villaurea, or how to search.
My cousin is trying to find Maria's parents, Vittoria Teresi and Salvatore Sansone Zodia, marriage or birth records for them. Any help would be appreciated!!
The only info we have on Vittoria Teresi is that she was born Feb 1840 (?)
Salvatore was born 17 SEP 1844 • Agrigento, Agrigento, Sicilia, Italy, Death 1888 (Termini?)
I think I found the index for Maria Sansone Zodia birth, but I can't find the record. The one that I see does not tell me her parents info. I may be looking at wrong number??? #24 on right side of page?
Hello! Thank you for finding a treasure trove of documents relating to Vittoria Teresi and Salvatore Sansone. I want to make sure the information I gave you links Maria Sansone to Vittoria Teresi and Salvatore Sansone Zodia. On her death record and subsequent records of her children they mention 'Santini'. Could Zodia have become 'Santini'? Maria Sansone was from Italy, but not necessarily from Sicily. There are many Re's in my area who immigrated from Vignole Borbera. So, did Maria Sansone/Santini really live in Sicily or another part of Italy. Here are the death certificates that mention Sansone/Santini. Can you let me know if my Maria Sansone/Santini is the same as Maria Sansone/Santini Re? I am so confused.

B- Look at Maria Re death info. It is filled out by the hospital staff. I believe it is a probably a miscommunication due to accents and the staff wrote down how it phonetically sounded. They even have her name as Re(y). I have found the spellings off by a few letters in many of my family documents.

The older generations who lived in southern Italy certainly remember the sound of the bells or the siren that occurred at various times of the day. Life was marked by simple and repetitive gestures: work, the relationship with nature, sharing with the family and the people of the small villages. Now...
