Need info on Great-Grandparents G. Chirillo and T. Pascuzzi.

Wow. Thank you guys so much for looking for all this information. Yolanda my grandmother was born 1919 so that's correct. I'm looking for manifests for Teresa, her mother Paulina (not sure if she was born in italy, but I'm guessing) and Giuseppe. I believe that another spelling for Pascuzzi could be Pascucci?

My great great-grandfather was giuseppe pascuzzi born april 1, 1871 in gezzeria (calabria, catanzaro). He married paulina born may 5th 1877. Theresa Pascuzzi (my great-grandmother) was their daughter.

he had some siblings, one of them being carmine, conceta, and mariantonia. He came over in 1900, april 5th. aboard the hesperia from naples

This is possible Giuseppe Chirillo in the WWI Draft Card. If this his him, then this would explain why Teresa was living with another family in the 1920 census for Giuseppe could have actually got drafted and went to war.

And the manifest Ricbru gave you is a good one for listed with Giuseppe is a relative with the surname Viella

and another giuseppe Chirillo born in Gizzeria on 1886 leaving to US on 1903(per Ricbru)

Joyce and Valarie gave you census records that were very hard to find, so you have clues as to how old people are, when they got married, when they arrived into the USA, and even narrow down the years they died and where they possibly died.

Also, you were given information that there is microfilm for the town and if you don't want to use the microfilm, you can write for records.

Poster said that Giuseppe Pascuzzi came 1900. Gave extra date & ship name & wldspirit linked the manifest. 2nd trip in Jan. 1903??

Thank You so much for finding that 1930 census. It does look like that could be the family. Because I believe he did go by the name Joseph. I'll ask my mother when I see her tomorrow and ask if any of it looks familar to her. I appreciate all the searching you guys are doing.


I would like to write to Gizzeria for birth records, But It has be written only in Italian? I don't speak Italian at all.


The draft card for Giuseppe Chirillo looks like that could very well be him.

Joseph is the American form for Giuseppe. Believe your mother will verify the 1930 information.
