Post by ray1955 »

Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1866-1939
Caltanissetta,Vallelunga Pratemino, Atti di Matrimoni 1887

I couldn't save it to my computer from Ancestry Search.
Having trouble reading it but its the marriage document
for Lucia Spoto and Vincenzo Bonasera.
She emigrated in 1906 to meet her husband.
Vincenzo now I have their marriage document I am trying
to figure Lucias date of birth and get the birth document

Thanks

The Marriage Record is also online at Family Search:

Marriage No 7 Vincenzo Bonasera e Lucia Spoto: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1946840

Marriage Allegati starts here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1946840

Here, amongst the allegati, is a "copy" of Lucia Spoto's Birth Record, No 173???

Thank you for taking the time.

I could bring up the Marriage document I can't print it from Ancestry. In Family Search, the features of printing or download is "disabled". If I could print it, I need someone that can read these three documents.
I like using Family Search sometimes but that must be new they disabling these functions.

I'm having issues trying to download the documents so that I can read them clearly. They are not allowing me to do this today.

If you need them translated just post each of them separately on the translation section here on the forum and we will chip away at them. I can't translate them at the moment because I'm having issues getting a clear read.

One thing I'm a little mythed about is that I was reading that Lucia was born on 11 October 1866? I searched for the "original" birth record but it is not there? Maybe someone else will take a look to confirm the year of birth. I checked the indices but no Lucia Spoto was born that year. The marriage record doesn't give her age, it just says that she was a minor.

I was told she was born in 1868.....and if she was married in 1887, she was 10 years old.....
can that be?....1868 might be wrong. Usually on Marriage documents and children's birth documents you can get the age of parents.....

Looking at the 1887 marriage record, I see she was aged 21, (the other record I had looked at didn't give her age, it only said that she was a minor) so her year of birth would've been circa 1866. (I'll leave you to redo the maths )

Perhaps these images will help; I hope I got the linkages right, I'll check one when the post goes up. They vary in legibility, I've seen worse! Was there another doc? I'd rather avoid doing an entire allegati. Image availability to examine on a screen is not the same as for printing; I can't help much if you want a clear (hard copy) print.

Hi again Ray

Just wanted to let you know that I've checked Family Search today, and noticed that the records that you are interested in, can now be downloaded and printed off, in case you are still wanting to do this.
