I'm still not finding anything on this surname in NY.

But to trace the family in Italy, there are LDS (Mormans) films for Rionero-in-Vulture. The films cover the vital records for 1809 to 1860, so you should be able to find Ernesto's & his wife's marriage act & their birth acts.

I can't tell you how happy I was to have the 2 pages that I printed of Rionero
Now maybe I can get the film and find my Greatgrandfather Ernesto and his wife Maria Cima's information. I have often wondered about the name GERBEVILLE ...it is not Italian ,but my Grandfather was born in Rionero????
I wonder if I will find the answer? It is getting late now as I am the first born
Grandchild ,now almost 77 (Sept) all the Family is gone (including my husband that I lost last Aug)except my younger cousins and no one has had the desire to find out more,except me!
I have decided to make a last stand !
My Grandmother died 9 years before I was born Angelina RUSSO . and My Grandfather Bonaventura GERBEVILlE died when I was about 8 months old....he did see me..I was happy for that ...but it has been a life time quest to ask questions from everyone and so disappointing to get so little in return.

Can you PLEASE help me.........?I have two papers.
A copy of my Grandfather's birth record.
Bonaventure(a) GERBEVILLE b. 20 Sept 1876 in Rionero-in-Vulture Pz. Bas. Italy
Paper said Father was Ernesto and Mother was Maria Cima. He was 40 and she was 37 . He was a tailor and she was a seamstress . They lived on Plazza du Pupolo (?)
Second paper is his Petition of Naturalization from the Waltham Ma. Arctives .
Sailed on the Massilia (Fore Line) from Naples on Nov 26 1892 to the Port of NY.
This petition paper was dated 1910,I believe.
I went to NY and all I found was a child listed ...Filio Bonaventura age 16
no other name.
From 1892 until 1901 I can't find anything about him...where was he with whom was he living?
Years ago I asked my greataunt Antonia (Zia Nina ) about this and she said she and her brother came together .She was twelve . The next person on the list next to my (?) was Filio Antonio 12 ....Can this be her??? My Aunt married Anselmo DIPACE and Lived in NY .I believe the Bronx. My Grandfather married in Newport,RI 1902 .
They had another Sister (I think) Concetta GERBEVILLE who married Carlo
TOTERO .I don't know where she married ,but she lived in Bronx. Then Westchester NY.
