Looking for Death Record

Post by rp76226 »

Trying to find the death record for Vincenzo Morana. Somehow I have him dying in Bagheria on December 4, 1820 (born about 1740; married to Anna Maria Geraci on February 1, 1768). The Bagheria death records have 1820 and 1821 together. Is he there somewhere? Hoping to find his parents.

This link provides the index for 1820 but only covering January - July. The rest are the death records for 1821 with the 1821 index at the back. I read through the church records and he does not appear to have died in 1820. They are organized a little strangely compared to the church records I'm used to so maybe someone else can confirm. I found his marriage in 1768 as you say and looked for baptisms through the 1740s. Several instances of Vincenzo Marrone but none Morana (or Murana as written in marriage). I imagine this is why you are trying to find his parents, to confirm which one. In any case the death records held at the church for adults appear to sometimes give parents' names but often don't have ages.

I don't know if this information helps. I got it from Ancestry.com. By the commune where he died (Bagheria), it indicates - Nativita' della Beata Vergine Maria
