Megali - Mystery Man from Cardeto

Hi!
Looking for any information at all about my husband's great grandfather.
He was born in Cardeto and died in Rome.
Don't know date of birth... maybe died around 1924?

Married to Emilia Corizza (no info on her either)

His name was Demetrio Megali.

They also had a son named Demetrio Megali born in Rome. (Jan 4th, 1924).

Appreciate any help!

I'm trying to figure out who is who..

#1. Demetrio Megali had a son (also Demetrio Megali)-- if we find his birth certificate, that would help with knowing the date of birth for the "first" Demetrio right? -

#2. How did you find that information so fast?? I've been going through Anetnati- but it takes me forever.. even when i try "trova il nome" .. . ..

The wife's name changes from Emila CoRizza to CoLizza..

I used the indici decennali, ten-year indices, to find the death first since you suspected he died in 1924. I assume Tessa did too. http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... decennali/

They're in alphabetical order so you can go to the Me- section and look for your man. Here it gives the year, record number, and series part of his death record. You can then go to that year and find the record.

Wow.. I was going the long qay i guess.. i even tried with the "trova i nomi" .. but I only found like.. one Demetrio - and it didn't match..
Also, would you know why you were able to find all those records- but we can't find the actual aact of birth for the First Demetrio? (we only have his act of death).. . .
or why I couldn't find any information on his son (Demtrio) either. .. .

I just recently started getting into my family tree ( after years of trying but never doing)-- and i looovee it!! I just want to know how to be able to research properly- and maybe faster?
I love being able to show people their history.
My father in law only knew his grandfather's name- that was it... and now look how far back I can show him, thanks to everyone's help!

He was probably born in 1865 and the birth records in Cataforio for 1865 are locked and can only be accessed at a LDS family history center or by someone with access (there are some of those users around here).

Everything you need to do on the antenati site can typically be done through the sfoglia i registri page. You need to navigate to the area you're researching, select the right time period, find the comune, then look through available records. The vast majority of these are not indexed so searching won't help you much.
