I am looking for military information on my grandfather, Joseph Grasso, born 1889 in Fondochelli, Sicily. I have a painting of him in his Italian Army uniform that hung on my grandmother’s wall, I took it when she died. Where would I start? Thanks

Fondochelli is a town in the metropolitan city of Messina.
Military records are available at Family search.org, but only while viewing at a Family History Center or affiliated library...

I can reach the Liste di Leva from home. I think that Family Search may have just unblocked it. Here's his entry.
