Ansaldo family

I am trying to trace back my families foot steps. Anyone have any ideas on where i could start? My father came across to the states when he was very little.
His name is Arcangelo Ansaldo, son of Aviano Ansaldo and Angela 'Bofante' (spelling??) Ansaldo & Brother to Albert and Adrean Ansaldo. They came across in the year of 1957.

What else would i need to list to make this easier??

Also, he was born in Trieste in 1947. I know i have some cousins in Genoa...or is it spelled Genova now (?)

And does anyone know of the Ansaldo house in Genoa?

Since he came across in 1957 there wouldn't be any online records available to search but I'm sure someone could provide you with some addresses in Itay that you could write to to obtain records.

Yes, there are definitely ways to go back, but not online I'm afraid.

There is usually microfilms available from you Family History Library of the towns your families came from where you can view for a small fee. But you need to order them first and that takes a couple of weeks.

Now we just need to find if the town your family is from has been microfilmed. But right now I have to go check my kids....
