Italian Military Questions

Hi there:

Thank you so much for the link to get my families military record in Ascoli Piceno. It worked perfectly and they were wonderful. I have a question on the information received, what does "reluctant" mean. One son was listed as reluctant and later moved to the US, one was listed as reluctant and later died.

ANTONIO Virivè figlio di Pasquale nato a Montemonaco il 31/10/1893 (alla visita di leva fu fatto abile e arruolato);
GIUSEPPE Virivè figlio di Pasquale nato a Montemonaco il 07/04/1896 (al momento della visita di leva era già all'estero e fu dichiarato renitente);
ALFONSO Virivè figli di Pasquale nato a Montemonaco il 14/06/1898 (al momento della visita di leva fu dichiarato renitente e poi successivamente morto).

The word "renitente" in military language refers to a person who is not present at the conscription visit
