Hi......

And I sent a copy by e-mail to her yesterday of the 1910, 1920 info. Didn't know she has posted before here. I am going to the library tomorrow to look up the Ripabottoni records for Santelia and Amoruso...

Altobelli is a name from Ripabottoni....but I am not sure Antonio came from there. There are a couple of Antonio's in the census...but no way to be sure he is the father Toni is looking for. There is an Antonio in the WWI records, but not sure this is him.

Best bet is to track them in the city directories at this point.

Trying to find Rose in 1930 is a bear... She eventually married a Kenneth Smith...but there are so many in Detroit in 1930 not sure who is who....and no Rose Smith, Rosa Smith, etc. that I could find.

In 1930, the sons Dan and Mike are sharing a household with wives and families. Looked around this to see if Rose lived nearby...especially if she needed help to take care of the baby while she worked. Needed to be close. The child she had was born in her father's house.

That is all I can add at this point for everyone..........

My Name is Marlo Ann Gilbert. I am the grand daughter of Rosa Santelia. Toni, if you are still on list, we met at your father's funeral service. I would love to recconncet with you.

I am looking for information on the birth records for Domenicantonio Santelia as I am looking into dual citizenship in Italy but I don't know if I qualify. Any help would be great.

My father was Ronald Thomas Smith. Rosa married Kenneth Morris Smith of Greentop, Missouri. My father was born 7/19/1935 in Detroit and was their only child. Kenneth's father was Archibald Smith and his wife was Susan McBee. Archibalds family is from Missouri as well we think and his wife is of Scottish decent.

Also my mother remembers Rose mention Abruzzo/Abruzzi Italy. It may be a lead for Domenicantonio.

I am new to all this so bare with me. If Domenico Santalio naturalized does that mean that he renounced his Italian citizenship? One of the questions for dual citizenship asks if the relative A) naturalized and B) if they renounced Italian citizenship. Can one naturalize and decline to renounce Italian citizenship? I would have to provide the following: Provide a U.S. Certificate of Naturalization or declaration from the Department of Homeland Security that no naturalization has taken place.
