roncoferraro & bagnolo s. vito cemetaries near Mantova

Post by cgn22 » 15 Jan 2007, 13:38

I have family from in and around Mantova, and I am trying to discover if they were Jewish or not. I was previously advised to write for their birth certificates, which I will do.
I recently learned from my family who is currently in Mantova (but cannot shed any light on the Jewish question - they think it could go either way) that my great-great- and great-great-great-grandparents were buried in roncoferraro cemetary and bagnolo s. vito cemetary. I have asked my family for more information about this, but they just left on vacation for a month! Has anyone on the list-serv heard of these cemetaries - are they Jewish cemetaries, or if not, is it possible that a Jew would have been buried in them?
Furthermore, is anyone familiar with the last names Dall'olio, Mora, Tamassia in around Mantova, and if so, can you shed any light on a possible Jewish connection to these names?
Thank you!
