Santoleri person in Quardiagrele

Post by raenick »

My husband and I are looking for the Santoleri Family in Guardiagrele, Italy.
His father Luigi Santoleri was born there and left a brother Constantino when he left Italy. He came to America in 1913 and again in 1922. Another brother was Joseph married Rita.

He was married, and we would like to know his 1st wife's name. After she died, Lugi came to the USA. He also had a son that he left with Constantino at that time.
Nick, my husband, is a son from his 2nd wife here in the USA,

We do not know Luigi's mother and father's name or his grandparents. We would like to know any other relative there also.

Thank you.
Rae

We'd like to know this for our children.

Luigi Santoleri born in Guardiagrele the 10 may 1891, and on WWI draft reg. card, result married, with 1 child and the mother also in Italy; he already made the Infantry militar service in Italy only for 3 months... so for to know abt wife surname, date of marriage in italy( you know the wife first name: Maddalena), name of first child and birthdate, the better thing is to write in Guardiagrele civil records office:
Servizi Demografici
P.zza S. Francesco 12
66016 Guardiagrele (CH)
Italy

anagrafesc.grele @ virgilio.it (NO SPACES)

currently it are 27 Santoleri families in Guardiagrele:

Hi,

Luigi Santoleri was born on January 22, 1891 he died in Phila on November 26, 1972
His first trip to Phila. was Mar. 31, 1913,
second trip Aug. 5, 1922 visiting his brother in law, Donato Paolucci.

His brothers -Constantino,and Joseph (Guesp.)
We don't know the name of his first wife, his second wife was Rosalia, who he met in Phila. He had two children by her, Rita and Nicholas.
Just came across a paper, his parents were Nicholas and Rita Santoleri
would like to know her maiden name.
Grandparents- Donato and Maria, would like to know her maiden name.

We know the name of Constantino's children and Joseph childre.
Joseph came to Phila. Constantino stayed in Italy Guardiagrele.
Would like to know if Luigi was in a war. And any other relatives. Thank you.

in the trip of your Luigi Santoleri, of Aug 05, 1922, the wife was living, and the first name was MADDALENA http://ellisisland.org/search/shipManif ... 0415%2ETIF
and by ship's manifest of 1913 the complete wife name is Maddalena PAOLUCCI
http://ellisisland.org/search/shipManif ... 0663%2ETIF

the birthdate of Luigi is different on WWI draft registration card, but as always for the immigrant records in foreign country, it is some error http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/6726 ... erire6.jpg

abt Donato maybe this is a interesting record:
Husband
DONATO SANTOLERI Pedigree

Birth: Guardiagrele
Christening:
Marriage: About 12 MAR 1865 Guardiagrele, Chieti, Italy
Death:
Burial:

Father: PAOLO SANTOLERI Family
Mother: ROSARIA DI PRINZIO

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wife
MARIA GIACINTA DI SCIASCIO Pedigree

Birth: Guardiagrele
Christening:
Marriage: About 12 MAR 1865 Guardiagrele, Chieti, Italy Death:
Burial:

Father: POMPEO DI SCIASCIO Family
Mother: MARIA DOMENICA DI PRINZIO

for to know the maiden name of Luigi's mother, the only chance is to write in Guardiagrele civil records office..

rae, maybe you no most able in the genealogy: please to make attention.
The marriage record is abt the marriage of A PROBABLE grandfather of Luigi, and no abt Luigi marriage. OK?

Here is an excerpt from the Guardiagrele website re: Churches in the area:

Church of Santa Maria Maggiore: The asymmetrical facade in Majella stone is divided into three levels with a portal, a huge window in the middle section and a rose window in the top. The belltower dates back to the XIII century, and is one of the oldest in Abruzzo. The interior is Baroque, and comprises a Museum of Sacred History, with the remains of the celebrated silver cross by Nicola da Guardiagrele, dismembered and stolen in 1979.

There is a Hotel called "Hotel Villa Maiella"

Guardiagrele

Hope this is of use to you.
