No, I do not have a name that some preciso.So Minting emigrating to the USA in 1850 / 1870 but do not know the names. My family is originally Ligure.

Hi Nadia,

Here is the manifest for Benedetto Conio going to Syracuse NY - line 143. If you look at the line below - 144 - this is his wife. I can't quite make out her name. Maybe someone else on the forum can take a look and see what they think.

Can someone try and pull census information on Benedetto and his wife? Manifest is from 1893. Thanks all.

The names coming from Ravegno Pava are Ligure.

But it strange she was Benedetto's Wife because she was going in New York and Benedetto in Siracuse.... ( ), probably she was Mazzolini married Giusti, but no Benedetto's wife...

I think you are right. It looks like some women were just listed as "wife" as in "housewife" as an occupation on this manifest. Benedetto was probably traveling alone.

Ho letto che parli di qualcuno emigrato molto tempo prima ma ho visto che la tua famiglia ha origini liguri, perciò ho pensato che ti potesse essere utile...
p.s. edit: potresti dirmi di quale parte della Liguria? Come diceva Elizabeth ci sono diversi Conio anche sul sito di Ancestry provenienti da Rovegno, che all'epoca era sotto la Provincia di Pavia ma dal 1923 passò sotto Genova....

Intanto vorrei ringraziarti per l'aiuto, non sono ancora molto pratica di questi siti e mi sento un po imbranata.
La mia famiglia è certamente originaria della Liguria di ponente,dove vivo e dove ancor oggi esistono parecchi Conio, soprattutto nei paesi di Pompeiana e Taggia (dove vivo) nella riviera dei fiori in provincia di Imperia. Ho gia trovato Domenico Conio ma come dicevi sto cercando due Conio di cui non ho traccia,probabilmente immigrati in America in epoca precedente.
Come funziona il sito di Ancestry ? Devi registrarti ?

Also look at this map http://www.gens.labo.net/it/cognomi/gen ... gnomi-prov There is a few by the name Conio in the USA http://www.gens-us.net/map/genera.html?cognome=CONIO and it looks like New York only or that state.

Ciao io sono Simone Conio originario di Sanremo e vivo a Milano; so per certo che il fulcro di questo cognome è Pompeiana proprio sopra Taggia ma ce ne son tanti anche nella zona di Beausoleil sopra Monaco.
