Town of Amblar, Italy, was Amblar, Austria, before WWI

Post by ciaochaz » 03 Dec 2007, 22:33

Hi All,
My great grandfather was born in Amblar when the town was Austrian. Now Amblar is Italian. I would like to get citizenship through him (since I can't through my Italian great grandmother). Does anyone know of any loop-holes that would allow a parent from this tranferred region to pass down citizenship?

Thanks
Charlie

Charlie, citizenship via family heritage was possible some years ago only for Trentino families as I understood. I spent much time and effort and money in my attempt and never heard back from Italian authorities. Good luck. And, both of my paternal grandparents were born in Valle di Non in Trentino.
