Possible Maria Romano's arrival???

She was exactly on the same ship and the same date of arrival of Francesco Romano... I noticed that on Francesco name there was an annotation (..."with 6-3", I thought it was sheet 6 number 3)
So i searched better and found:

New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
about M Concetta Romano
Name: M Concetta Romano

Estimated Birth Year: abt 1892
Age: 21

Birth Location Other: casino (this place looks strange)

She's listed on the sheet number 6 at the line number 3!!!!

Jeri,

If you look another time the 1920 Census about Joe Romano posted by Nuccia, you can see that the family listed before Joe was a Tallerico.
When Maria Concetta Romano arrived she declared to go to her brother and sister in law Tallarico Vincenzo....

I can't believe how amazing you guys are!!! Happy New Year to me!!!!

I need to sit down and write this all out and digest this for a while. I'm seriously stunned. Do you know how long I've been searching for this family!?!?!? :D

We knew Tallerico's when I was growing up. Incredible.

Wow! 8O Is it odd for a coal-miner to act as the undertaker, especially for his niece? These poor families; pneumonia, cholera, all the things their tiny babies had to deal with!

Oh no, there might be a problem with the dates. The marriage certificate I looked up has Joseph and Mary being married on May 8, 1913.

This has to be the right person! I know my mom always commented on her great-grandmother's name being "Domenica" because she said it was so beautiful.

Could someone have prepared the marriage certificate in advance, knowing she was on her way? One thing I noticed about it was that it's all in the same hand, including the signatures of the bride and groom.

Whew! It was the cemetery information that had the marriage date wrong. I went back to where I copied all of the information from the marriage certificate down and it had the May 24 date, so that's a relief. They were married by a justice of the peace. I wonder why not in the Catholic church? Any ideas?

It's possible that there wasn't a nearby Catholic church or priest available to marry them at the time. They may have married in the church at a later date.

Not sure if you've seen this:

Last residence: ALTILIA , he was going to meet his cousins Achille and Antonio Mirabelli in Johnston PA. I think he could be him from the annotation on his name (19X2716-505- 5-31-40) the first number 19 is the U.S. Naturalitazion Disctrict Number of Salt Lake City - Utah....

Laura :)
I must be doing something wrong because I have searched Ellis Island for hours now, trying to find the second page to this manifest... nothing. I've searched by name, and also tried to refine it with the ships name and dates... still nothing. Can someone give me direction, or possibly post the second page of the manifest? I'm just looking to see if it has any more info on it.

Hi Jeri71,

I found this manifest on Ancestry.com, if you want to see it on the Ellis Island site you can find it under this mispelled last name:

First name: Giuseppe
Last Name: RONIANO
Ethnicity: Cosenza Italian
Last place of residence: Altilia
Date of arrival: May 6, 1903
Age at arrival: 17 y Gender: M Marital status: S
Ship of travel: Patria (1882)
Port of departure: Naples
Manifest line number: 030

At that time (last and first year of 1800/1900) manifest had only one page..... there is no second page about this record....
