SATRIANI.
I am a fan of Joe Satriani, composer and guitar player born July 15, 1956 in Westbury, N.Y.

Satriani is a descendent of Italians. My guestion is: could his family be from SATRIANI, Basilicata?

I would like to write a paper on famous contemporary musicians of Italian ancestry, also including my n. 1 = Steve Siro VAI, and Petrucci. They are not only famous, but philanthropists.

I have not, but I will try. As you now very few children of Italians, in US, have some correct information on theirs ancestry.

I want to check the town records, etc. but don't have tapes, or microfilms.
Can try churches there , generally lucky that way.

I thought that most members would have all sorts of data on surnames, ship manifestos for around 1900's, towns in Calabria and Basilicata, etc. and be eager to help !

Many thanks! I am checking some additional info. and will concentrate from 1900 on for grandparents. And also possible locations near Satriani. I believe Naples would be the port.
