The origin of the Manunta surname

Post by lucamanu » 18 Feb 2008, 11:00

The surname Manunta is originally from the Italian island of Sardinia, where it was already in use as far back as in 1595. Today the surname is well spread around the world, as I found evidences of its use in France, Germany, USA, Brasil, Chile, Spain, etc.
I could only find contradictory information concerning the origin of the name. I would invite whoever has any info to post it either here, or in the website where I am concentrating all info on this family name: the ManunWikiTa ( ).
The website is organised as a wiki, open to all people willing to provide additional info.
