There is no definition or description for the Siena sunrame. It is derived from Senesi senese sanesi and sanese. A variation is also Sieni. It is most likely fouind in Toscana region but also in other parts of Italy. There is no furhter discussion of the name in the italian surname dictionary. Di Siena, as you know means Of Siena. Peter

Hi :
The surname Di Siena, in origin was De Siena, and still remoter in the time Da Siena that meant coming from Siena'town in Tuscany region. I have friend Di Siena, that they live in my city and has explained me meant their surname... regards, suanj

Ci sei mancato molto. Un caro saluto, Raffaella

hi,

My last name is DeSiena. I would like find my roots. I have traced them to Coreno Italy. But there are not records past 1860 remaining. tehy were destroyed during the war.

If there is a way to trace or find Italian records I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Albert

I noticed the mention of the Sieni surname. My family surname is Sieni and i am trying to get some family history. We believe my great great grandfather, Antonio Sieni was born in Pace, Messina in Sicily and he emigrated to South Africa. We have tried tracing his birth certificate, but have had no luck. If anyone knows any Sieni's, or may be of any help it would be greatly appreciated.
