Sceresini Family from Montagna in Valetellina Pro. Sondrio

Post by dt1966 » 04 May 2008, 13:32

Hello there

I am searching for relatives of my grandparents Pietro & Angela Sceresini who immigrated to Western Australia in the early 1900's.

My grandfather's parents were Antonio Sceresini and Maria Farina and my grandmother's parents were Angelo Sceresini and Lucia Della Maddalena.
The lived in the Province of Sondrio. I have been told that my grandparents were 1st cousins (the same paternal surname). So, my great grandfathers may have been brothers.

My grandfather had a brother - Jim or James (or the Italian equivalent). Other than that, I don't know how many brothers and sisters each had or how I would go about finding out.

If anyone has any information that I could follow up I would appreciate it.
Should I try to use the names in the telephone directory and just write a letter?

Any help would be appreciated.

Well there are only 31 people listed in the Italian phone book - Pagine Bianche - and 30 of them ALL live within a radius of 1 mile around a village near Sondrio called Montagna In Valtellina

It's a very beautiful area I can assure you!
