Dual Citizenship & Information on my families background

Post by leash » 08 Jun 2008, 23:03

I am wanting to get dual citizenship, and most sites I have noticed are for America.

I am proberly wanting to go through my nana, as she has never become an Australian citizen, my grand father was born here in Australia.

I am not sure what is my best option though. Can I go through my nana and my great grandfather???

Also I am wanting information on my nanas family and my grandfathers as they haven't really told me anything about them, (my grand-father is deceased)

My nana was born Assunta Cannella (b1925) to Dominic & Nancy Cannella I belive they had other children. They came from an island called Lipari and came to Australia I am unsure of when this happened.
My nana married Angelo Scecchitano and had 5 children.

Any help would be great. :-)
Known surnames- Mollica, Alba, Cannella, Secchitano
I would like to research my family history and find out as much as I can =)

I can give you a little bit of info hope it helps. Italy in general will consider head of house hold blood lines, your best bet is to contact your nearest consulate I found http://www.conssydney.esteri.it/Consola ... consolare/

A quick call should be able to answer your question hope this helps
