Livio, I'm confused too. The word 'apt' for me indicates:

RELEVANT, applicable, apposite, appropriate, fitting, acceptable, suitable, fit, germane, seemly, proper, correct, accurate, timely, seasonable colloq. spot-on.
I don't think it was an apt expression at all!

Dear Elba it is my opinion that it is an apt phrase in response to the idomatic expression" where have you been all this time" which I assume to be a sardonic comment..It is an opinion to which we are all entitled to have. Hope your doing well. =Peter=
