Help in Translating a Birth Record

Post by margaretanne »

Hello All,
I found another family birth record and would appreciate help in its translation. I know it is a birth in Faeto of Carmine Ruggiero, child of Antonio and Angiola Stango. I can make out the street name and that Antonio was a peasant farmer but need help with the child's sex, parent's ages and the actual birth date.

Would anyone be willing to help?

Thank you,
Margaret Anne

Antonio Ruggiero was 29 at the time of birth. No age is listed for Angiola Stango. The birth date was September 22, 1894 for a female child named Carmine.

Thank you, Tom.
It is strange to see a female named Carmine. Back then, I suppose there were other unusual female names as well.

yes, sometimes the female names did not very from the masculine ones. i have seen (at least written) giuseppe instead of giuseppa, pascale instead of pascala, felice instead of felicia, etc... not sure why that is, maybe someone else can chime in.
