Hi Jim,
I haven't read page two yet, but here is what page one tells us:

First let me tell you that the notation under the name says "born dead"

Record is dated 4 April 1888
Father Antonio Tamburrino, 36, farmer
mother is Marianna Valentino, his wife,
at 11 AM at Via S. Lucia (?) was born a boy baby who was named Nicola.

How sad.
Apparently they must have given up on the name Nicola. The next boy I have recorded is Giovanni in abt 1890. They realized mortality rates we can't imagine today.
Thank you,

Jim

How true. It is one of the saddest things I have found in my own family's history as well.
