Could you tell me if the fu in front of Antonina Serio's name means that she is the deceased wife of Giuseppe Sanfilippo?

the word "fu" immediately before or after a name does indeed mean that person was deceased.

I have seen this "FU" in front of just a last name in a letter addressed to the living spouse. =Peter=
