I will be applying for citizenship through the Newark consulate. Does anyone know if they require documents to be translated by a professional? I would like to translate them myself if possible. I have heard that different consulate have different rules about translations. If anyone who has applied through Newark has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.
I had spoken to Newark Consulate (as I am going in Jan 2011.) They will not accept translations by you or somebody close to you on your own documents. They follow NY requested translators. I would recommend making copies of the originals and sending them out to be professionally translated with the professional translators signature.
