MEANING OF MY NAME

Post by ginnyo »

I'm writing another message since I'm new at this site and am not sure my original message was sent.

I am interested in the meaning of my surname IACOBACCI. My mother thinks it means "here is a kiss"; however, I disagree. I think the IACOB
means JACOB from the latin for James.

If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate an answer.

THANKS

Se intrattennero benchè pochi dì alcune case et palazzi, con ricever dentro di quei soldati che primi se li appresentorno...." (means that Cola Iacobacci very good person, help and ospite in it house in Rome, soldiers of Colonna prince in war Orsini soldiers) text coming from: Domenico Orano autor :"Il Diario di Marcello Alberini (1521-1536), in «Archivio della R. La casa degli Iacobacci (=Iacobacci house) era congiunta alla chiesa medesima (=are near s. Stephani del Trullo church) . V' era anche il sepolcro d' una Andreozza della non meno nobile famiglia de' Normanni, oggi estinta (also in the church was burial an Andreozza woman of De Normanni family):

Ginny: You need to search your name at ancestry.com. I am told that mine, Iacobucci, means Iacob is a form of Jacob and that Ucci means son. I found much helpful info at that site. Your mom might be right.
